Swede
What is a Swede?
A swede is essentially a like for like copy of an existing model in order to gain valuable experience into how to create one of your own.
Our Swede
As part of our Year 12 to Year 13 bridging work, we had to create a Swede in order to gain further incite into how to go about creating our year 13 horror trailer. We chose a horror classic to emulate because it gives us a great look into the quality ours needs to be at for next years project. In order to create this Swede, we needed to get the help of two fellow media students to star in the project. We used two members of a fellow horror production company in the Sixth Form, Perdition Productions. Dominic Hebbron and Matthew Hodkinson played two major roles in the project alongside fellow Fear It Films team members Joseph Broady, Elliott Garrott and Josh Baldwin. We also gained the assistance of an outstanding actress studying drama at Churchdown School Academy ,who has also starred in the upcoming film The Drowning Of Arthur Braxton, to play the role of the Yuri, a traditional Japanese horror folklore character featured in the ring and the original Japanese version Ringu. Without the help of the additional three people, we couldn't have completed the project so we would like to thank them for the help. They are all honorary Fear It films team members!
What we learnt from this?
During the process of making the Swede, we learnt just how hard it is to create something as intricate and creative as a trailer. A trailer doesn't just give you an incite into what you can expect form the full film, it is also part of the viewing experience as it can either attract or deter people from wanting to watch it when it is released. Therefore, we realised how important it was to make this Swede as good as we possibly could. The ring's trailer is extremely montage based so it was a challenge to perfect but we were happy with the outcome.
