How did you use media technologies in the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages?
In this video, we demonstrate how we used a variety of different technologies to construct our horror trailer, poster and magazine whilst creating a level of synergy between them to allow for people who view them to understand the links between them.
Photoshop
Photoshop is a piece of software we used in order to create the best possible magazine cover and poster. The software helped us create realistic pieces of work which can be compared hopefully to industry standard. We used erasing tools to create an effect of our figurehead being in the foreground whilst our masthead was in the background. Little things like this helped contribute to making a good looking piece of work.
Final Cut
We used Final Cut to edit together all of our footage to create our final trailer for 'The Sanctuary'. Using Final Cut we did many things which are shown in the video above including adding and editing sounds, editing video and adding effects to improve the quality of the video. To improve our trailer we used sound to add another level of quality through the use of sound effects to enhance a scene. We also used sound to improve our trailer through the use of music, we did this by editing the song to fit the theme of our trailer and to make sure it fitted in with what was happening on the screen. We also used Final Cut to enhance the video in our trailer, we did this by editing clips we shot to only include the best scenes and to make sure there wasn't any mistakes in our footage. We followed this up by adding effects to our video to make it to a even higher level. An example of this is adding fades in between clips to improve the tempo and pace of our video which helps to improve the overall quality
Weebly
Weebly was used as a platform to upload our content throughout the process of making the Sanctuary. Rough copies, planning, research and our final products of the trailer, magazine and poster. As a platform, weebly allowed us to be creative and lay out our content how we wanted. Our website was a chance to show off the hard work and effort we put in to the creative process.
Youtube Converter
We used a youtube converter to be able to download royalty free music and sound effects which we then added towards our final trailer. We did this by using websites which allow youtube videos to be downloaded and converted into either MP4 or MP4 format. We used Royalty free music in order to conform with the copyright law and not use an artists music illegally. Once the video has been converted the file is dragged into final cut pro and then edited to fit alongside our trailer. This is shown in the video above. |
